Half-day game drive in Mikumi National Park
Wildlife viewing & bird watching
Picnic lunch inside the park
After an early breakfast, our professional safari driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam at around 05:00 AM. You will begin your scenic drive toward Mikumi National Park, Tanzania’s fourth-largest national park, traveling through towns, countryside landscapes, and the foothills of the Uluguru Mountains. The drive takes approximately 5–6 hours.
Upon arrival at Mikumi around late morning, you will enter the park and immediately begin your game drive, with a packed lunch enjoyed at a designated picnic site inside the park. Mikumi is often compared to the Serengeti due to its wide open grasslands and rich wildlife concentration.
During the afternoon game drive, you may encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, elands, hartebeests, and many other species. The park is also home to over 300 bird species, making it a rewarding destination for bird lovers.
As the day comes to an end, you will exit the park and transfer to your lodge for check-in, relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive in Mikumi National Park, the best time to witness predators returning from hunts and herbivores grazing in the soft morning light. After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast.
Later in the morning, you will drive toward Udzungwa Mountains National Park, part of the Eastern Arc Mountains and one of Tanzania’s most biologically diverse regions. Unlike other national parks, Udzungwa is famous for hiking and endemic species, rather than game drives.
Upon arrival, you will meet a park ranger for a guided hike to the spectacular Sanje Waterfalls, one of the highest waterfalls in Tanzania. The hike is moderately challenging and takes you through lush rainforest trails filled with butterflies, birds, and unique plant species.
At the waterfall viewpoint, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the Kilombero Valley, and take time to rest, take photos, or enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pools (weather permitting).
After the hike, you will transfer to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and overnight surrounded by peaceful forest scenery.
